Weekly Update: 3.8.25
Oh, the wind is lashing lustily
And the trees are thrashing trustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it is rather safe to sayThat it seems that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day, todayWinnie-the-Pooh
Reflecting on the last week, blustery seems like the appropriate word. Wild winds billowed for days. They threatened to rip boards out of our hands and hats off of our heads while we worked. And at night, the wind pounded the tent and kept us awake. It was particularly blustery Tuesday night, when gusts near 30-miles-per-hour shredded our tent fly.
We knew the fly needed replaced -- we had already purchased a replacement. We were just hoping we could get moved into the bunkhouse before it was necessary. Well, it's necessary now. We took the fly down once the wind improved, and we will put up a new one next week when our dad and brothers are around.

We had a productive week in spite of the wind issues. When the weather was too wet or cold, we sisters worked on white washing -- painting our hall, entryway, and half-bath ceiling.

We also started siding our full bath, as well as my sisters' and my bedroom. Getting the siding started is always a tedious process, involving lots of measuring, planning, and our laser level. Because the bathrooms are such small spaces, we wanted to have another project started so our family can spread out while we work.
When our dad was home, he helped with some tedious jobs like light and bathroom fan installation.
It felt good to make solid progress this week. I love looking around the bunkhouse and seeing things come together. Projects always take longer than we expect they will, but with the longer days and warmer weather, I'm feeling rather optimistic. Daylight savings time begins this week, and as much as I dislike the darker mornings, I'm very much looking forward to the longer evenings.
