Photo Friday: Episode 100
"All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all." -Cecil Frances Alexander
One hundred Fridays ago, I started this photography series. My love of photography had been lifelong, but living in the city those few years prior had left me uninspired and left my camera case in the closet collecting dust. As I walked through the woods and across the grassy hillsides of our homestead, birds beckoning and rabbits bounding, my dormant passion for photography grew like perennials. I began to take weekly, and often daily, photo walks around our property, sometimes in solitude and sometimes accompanied by a niece, nephew, or pet. Whenever I looked through the camera lens, my perspective shifted. Wherever I looked for beauty, I found it. I found it in rain and sun. I found it in the seasons passing. I found it in the birds with feathers flitting in the fona. I found it in the crawling vines and creeping insects on the forest walls and floor. I found out every day, that I am surrounded by reasons to praise the Creator. One hundred Fridays ago, I started a photographic journal of God’s gifts. What started as an artistic exercise has become almost a religious ritual. I am so thankful for this experience, and I am thankful for the ability to share my findings with you all. Here's to a future of finding more reasons to praise!
